Ingredients of Great Leaders

Great leaders inspire, they invoke, they challenge, they defend, they love, they educate, they continually grow, and they never walk away. Great leaders love people, and multiply their strengths in everyone around them. True leaders admit their faults, acknowledge and apologize for their mistakes. True leaders NEVER lord their authority over anyone, they are giving and just to all in their care.

Great leaders role their sleeves up and get down in the trenches with the people who make things happen. They are not afraid to be seen with the “hirelings.” They believe every person is invaluable. In fact they love mixing and mingling with everyone so they can keep their finger on the pulse of what is really going on. You won’t see them sitting back waiting for their coffee to be served, they’re asking everyone else what they will take in their cup of joe. True leaders are servants to all and because of it they are the most effective and successful people you will ever find.

If you want to know what kind of leader you really are ask the people being led and then be willing to receive some of the best constructive critism you will ever receive. Take it to heart, then make adjustments as needed. Productivity and moral will go through the roof, and you will be long remembered as a great leader not for your personal achievements but because of the fruit produced by those you led.
